Professor Sprout is described as a squat little witch with short, grey, wavy hair. She usually wore a patched and battered hat.

She was the Head of Hufflepuff House and Head of the Herbology department at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She attended the school in her youth, where she was Sorted into Hufflepuff and excelled at Herbology.

The Hufflepuff dormitories are located in the cellar of Hogwarts near the painting that leads to the kitchens. The dormitories are only one floor below ground and surround a circular secondary area of the common room.

The dormitories have perfectly circular doors, and each dormitory has four-poster beds covered in patchwork quilts. The girls' dormitory is located upstairs, while the boys' dormitory is downstairs

The Hufflepuff common room is round and low-ceilinged. It is decorated in cheerful, bee-like colors of yellow and black, and has circular windows with a view of rippling grass and dandelions. There is also a lot of burnished copper and many plants, which either hang from the ceiling or sit on the windowsills.

To enter the dorms, you can tap the proper barrel to the rhythm of “Helga Hufflepuff”. If you tap the wrong barrel or rhythm, you will be doused in vinegar.

Female Hogwarts students wear knee-length skirts and long gray socks with black dress shoes. They also wear a white button-up shirt, a vest with colors according to their house, robes, a tie, and a hat.

The Hogwarts uniform consists of plain black robes, a white collared shirt, and a striped necktie. Each house has its own distinct color combination for its necktie. Hufflepuff colors are yellow and black.

They play in robes of gold, their House color. The uniform includes a yellow Hufflepuff Quidditch robe with black satin lining, a yellow rib-knit sweater with black contrast stripes, a pair of pinwale corduroy Quidditch pants, brown shoes with cord laces, and yellow rib-knit socks with black stripes. The robes have a star underneath the numbers on the sleeves and back.
